Dr. Neessen is a covered provider for most of the following plans:

  • Medicaid, including Presbyterian Centennial and BCBS Centennial
  • Presbyterian Health Care
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • True Health/New Mexico Health Connections

Dr. Neessen will accept payment from these insurance providers for his services when covered. The patient or patient’s parent/legal guardian(s) are responsible for determining the coverage available for their particular plan and arranging this coverage ahead of time, as needed.   The cost of health care services provided by Dr. Neessen that are not covered by insurance are the responsibility of the patient or patient’s parent/legal guardian(s).

It is important to be aware that insurance plans do not cover costs related to “educational testing”, which is any assessment of reading, writing, and math skills.   Educational testing is optional, but many families elect to self-pay for that portion so that Dr. Neessen can make the most current and relevant recommendations across all areas.  The cost of educational testing is $475, which does not include IQ or other testing.

To determine the extent of your insurance coverage for other aspects of testing, please contact the benefits department of your insurer directly.  Many insurance plans do not cover all costs of testing.   If they do not provide coverage, you again have the option to pay for some or all aspects of testing privately.

If your insurance plan does not cover the costs of testing, you have the option to pay privately.

Some health insurance plans will reimburse the insured individual for some portion of “out-of-network” fees for neuropsychological assessment. I will provide you with a statement/receipt for out of pocket expenses paid so that you may submit a claim to your insurance company, if you choose.
